Intelligent greenhouse cultivation enters a new era
Sollum Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with Optimal, a company focused on artificial intelligence (AI) greenhouse control. The collaboration combines Sollum’s dynamic LED lighting with Optimal’s AI climate and irrigation control platform, enabling growers to execute their ideal growing strategies in rapidly changing weather conditions, making greenhouse development more modern and convenient.
“Today, growers use Optimal to create their ideal climate conditions without having to spend hours adjusting settings,” said Dave Hunter, CEO and founder of Optimal. “With Optimal, growers can achieve higher yields, quality and energy efficiency by spending less than 10 minutes a week controlling climate and irrigation. Lighting is one of the most powerful levers in a greenhouse. Integrating with Sollum’s dynamic LED gives our AI the flexibility to adjust this lever in real time. It’s a natural extension of our platform.”
By integrating with Sollum’s proprietary SUN as a Service platform, Optimal’s AI can predict the impact of light and balance it with the impact of climate and irrigation in real time. Optimal’s AI can follow up with the settings in the grower’s existing control computer.
"Our dynamic lighting solutions are designed to adapt to any situation, and this partnership takes that adaptability to the next level," said François R.-Moisan, co-founder and CTO of Sollum Technologies. "By connecting with Optimal's decision engine, our platform can respond more precisely and quickly to crop needs. Together, we are providing growers with a seamless and intelligent way to optimize production."
For horticulture and greenhouse operations, this means a more responsive and precise approach to environmental control, with the potential to increase crop yields, improve quality, and increase energy efficiency.
